Ahmedabad to Dholera: Expressway, Metro & Connectivity Explained (2026)

In a new city, how you get there moves the price more than the brochure does. Dholera's case rests on the roads, rail, airport and freight line that tie it to Ahmedabad. Here is what is planned, and how to read it if you are buying.

How far is Dholera from Ahmedabad?

Dholera is about 100 km from Ahmedabad by road. Today you use the state highways. The new expressway is meant to bring that drive to about 90 minutes or less once it is actually open.

The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway

The main road is an access-controlled expressway of about 109 km, built to join Ahmedabad to the first built-up part of Dholera. Roads like that shorten the drive, make a daily truck run possible, and pull building toward the exits and the far end.

Rail, metro & mass transit

Besides the expressway, the plans include rail and other mass transit between Ahmedabad and Dholera, for people and for goods. If those run, fewer trips depend on a private car, which is what the denser zones in the plan assume.

The airport inside the SIR

Dholera sits on the plan for the Dedicated Freight Corridor. Cheaper, faster goods movement is what makes a warehouse or a factory worth running. That is what pulls demand for industrial plots, and later for houses for the people who work there.

What connectivity means for property value

• Plots near the exits and the first built-up area usually move first, and by more.
• Shops get customers after the road is actually used. See commercial land.
• Factories and warehouses follow the freight line more than the passenger story.
• Dates slip. Pay a price that still makes sense if the opening is late.

How to use this as a buyer

Look at the place and the zone before you look at a discount. A slightly dearer plot next to a road that exists usually beats a “cheap” plot far from anything being built. Check each one on the TP maps and read the investment note before you commit.
